गणेशोत्सवात गणपती विसर्जनावेळी डीजे आणि डॉल्बीवरील बंदीला अनेक गणेश मंडळांनी विरोध दर्शवला होता. तसंच यासंदर्भात ‘पाला’ म्हणजेच ‘प्रोफेशनल ऑडियो अँड लायटिंग असोसिएशन’तर्फे हायकोर्टात याचिकाही दाखल करण्यात आली होती. मात्र हायकोर्टाने ही मागणी फेटाळून लावत डीजे, डॉल्बीवरील बंदी उठवण्यास स्थगिती दिली आहे. त्यामुळे गणेश विसर्जना दरम्यान ढोल ताशेच वाजणार असून डॉल्बी मात्र बंदच राहाणार आहे.
डॉल्बीच्या कर्कश आवाजामुळे लोकांना या डॉल्बीवाल्यांचा त्रास सहन करावा लागतो. डॉल्बीचे आवाज ध्वनी प्रदूषणाची पातळी ओलांडतात. डॉल्बीची किमान पातळी ही ध्वनी प्रदूषणाच्या कमान पातळीच्याही वरची असल्यामुळे डॉल्बी, डीजे संदर्भातील मागणी हायकोर्टाने फेटाळून लावली.
या आधीही डीजे बंदीवर सरकारनं आपली मुंबई उच्च न्यायालयात भूमिका मांडली होती. मात्र ध्वनी प्रदूषण करणाऱ्या साधनांना राज्य सरकार परवानगी देणार नाही, ही राज्य सरकारची भूमिका कायम आहे. कोर्टानेही डॉल्बीला मान्यता दिली नसल्याने जर आता एखादे मंडळ डॉल्बी, डीजे वाजवत असेल, तर त्या मंडळावर त्वरीत कारवाई करण्यात येईल.

But it is important to know what the rules are while playing DJ, otherwise the DJ owners will face action.
The ban on Dolby has been maintained during Ganeshotsav. The Bombay High Court has stayed the lifting of the ban on DJ and Dolby.
Many Ganesh Mandals had opposed the ban on DJs and Dolby during Ganesha immersion in Ganeshotsav. Also, a petition was filed in the High Court by 'Pala' i.e. 'Professional Audio and Lighting Association'. However, the High Court rejected this demand and stayed the lifting of the ban on DJ, Dolby. Therefore, during Ganesh Visarjana, drums will be played for hours and Dolby will remain off.
People suffer from these dolby speakers because of the hoarse sound of dolby. Dolby sounds transcend noise pollution levels. The High Court dismissed the plea in the Dolby, DJ context as the minimum level of Dolby was above the arch level of noise pollution.
Even before this, the government had presented its position in the Bombay High Court on the DJ ban. However, the position of the state government remains that the state government will not allow the devices that cause noise pollution. Since even the court has not approved Dolby, if a band now plays Dolby, DJ, then action will be taken against that band.
